Scott was ready to jump into sand drag racing, and he wanted an engine that made strong power right away and left plenty of room to grow. He chose 78 mm cylinders — the smallest standard size in CPI’s “Dominant Male” series of high-performance Banshee cylinders — giving him a solid starting point with lots of upgrade potential.
His Driveline Performance engine cases were trenched for a +10-mil crankshaft for this build, but they’re also set up for the future. With additional trenching, they can support up to a +14-mil crank, which would bump displacement and deliver a huge step up in performance whenever Scott decides to take that next leap.
This was a fun project from start to finish, and the final build turned out awesome!
