Things to do before your trip:
- Clean & recharge your K&N air filters.
- Check to see if your tags are expired. Renew if needed.
- Buy 2-Stroke oil.
- Buy a 2-Stroke Mix Tag to hang on your gas can. Never again guess if your oil is mixed in with your gas.
What tools and extra parts do you take with you? Virgil almost always packs 2 totes and some tools.
Chemicals Tote:
- 2-Stroke Oil

- Transmission fluid
- Brake fluid
- Brake clean
- Silicone - small tube

Parts Tote:
If you replace a part, you can keep your old one as a backup. Or buy a new part to keep in your tote as a spare.

- Spare carb jets in various sizes
- Clutch cable
- Chain
- Clutch fibers
- Clutch cover gasket
- Misc metric nuts and bolts in an organizer
- Cotter pins
- Carrier bearings and seals
- Wheel bearings and seals - front and rear
- Exhaust springs
- Brake lever
- Clutch lever
Tools:
- Tool kit from Harbor Freight
- 18" crescent wrench for axle nuts, or a wrench that opens up to at least 50mm or 1.97".
- Variety of cable ties
- 12 ga wire - small roll, cutter crimpers, various connectors
- Gasket material - small roll
- Chain breaker
- Master link pliers
- Vampliers
- Hammer
- Flywheel puller

You may not take as many parts and tools with you as Virgil does. He's usually the overprepared fix-it guy at camp, LOL. But hopefully, these lists give you some ideas for what you want to take with you so you can fix minor issues at camp and keep riding. Roost ya later! 😉
