Powder Coating
Re-Do Banshee offers powder coating services. Powder coating a part that looks beat up or rusty can dramatically improve the appearance and condition. Powder coating is durable, easy to care for, and can last for years.
A large selection of powder coating colors are available, as shown in the following picture. Stop by our shop to see the color catalog in person to select the exact color shade you want and love. Just ask to see it.
To be more cost effective, our powder coating company has asked us to save up a good sized batch of parts to all be powder coated at one time. We powder coat parts in black pretty regularly. If you want to add a few parts into our next batch of black powder coating, this can be pretty cost effective way to get powder coated parts.
If you want a special color, you will need to have enough parts to make a batch, or enough large parts. If you'd like red, white, blue, gray, silver, yellow, or another popular color, we might throw some parts in with yours to make a full batch, which can also help lower your costs.
If you see parts on our website you WISH were powder coated, ask us to powder coat them for you. We'll quote you a new price that includes the price of the new finish. After we get your parts back with the new, beautiful, powder coated finish, we will ship them to you, or you can pick them up.
For more info about available colors and how many parts you need to have powder coated, give us a call.
It's usually a fairly quick turn around to get the parts back, but ask us about the timeline when you contact us. You can call us at 541-419-6054.
What is Powder Coating and How Does it Work?
Powder coating is a color-finishing technique in which powder is instead of paint. The powder is applied with spray tools and the chosen surface is heated to form a color coat. Numerous ingredients can make the powder used for this process, such as acrylic, polyester, epoxy and polyurethane. Powder coating achieves a thicker and more consistent finish than you usually get with spray paint.
Powder coating can be achieved with either thermoplastics or thermosets.
- Thermoplastics is a chemical-free process that relies on heat to change the powder to a thick, solid-coat state.
- With thermosets, chemical additives interact with the powder during the application.
The end result of thermoplastic and thermoset powder coatings are virtually identical. In both processes, you heat the powder to form the color finish on a chosen surface.
